About George L. Throop Company
The George L. Throop Company started in 1921 as a building materials company; although the retail building materials portion of the company closed in March 2022, the company continues as a concrete production company using volumetric concrete mixers. We are a family-owned business with George and Jeff Throop as owners (third generation).
As a concrete producing company, the Throop Company creates unusual and unique concrete mix designs in addition to producing normal concrete mix designs in unusual locations using our custom designed volumetric mobile concrete portable batch plants. Our mobile portable batch plants allow us to do small or big jobs without waste or producing unneeded concrete.
We work with Rapid Set cement (cures in 80 minutes or less, 3000 psi) that is used for freeways and airports and anywhere where time is on the essence. In addition we also produce special and unique cement concrete grouts. View all of the applications for our work with concrete. With being in business for over 100 years, we pride ourselves that we work by a code of ethics. We are also proud of ourselves having a proven record of producing concrete in hard-to-reach locations like islands, mountain tops, and on and around the ocean, rivers, lakes and other marine locations.
